About this calculator

How to use UF GPA Calculator, plus the formulas and logic behind the results.

Tool description

This educational UF-style GPA uses a flat 4.0 letter map: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. Plus/minus suffixes are stripped so A- and A+ both map like A. Confirm official UF policy for transcripts.

How to use

  1. List each course on its own line.
  2. Write letter grade, then credits (comma or space separated).
  3. Select Calculate to view credit-weighted GPA.
  4. Compare with your registrar if plus/minus policies differ.

Formulas & reference

  • Quality points = grade points × credits
  • GPA = Σ(quality points) / Σ(credits)
  • UF-style map: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0
